TET PUNJAB PSTET 2013  NOTIFICATION

TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST PUNJAB 2012-2013 NOTIFICATION HAS BEEN OUT AND INVITING ONLINE APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION AND THE DETAILS OF TH EXAM AND NOTIFICATION IS AS GIVEN BELOW
WHY TET PUNJAB IS NEEDED ?
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had VideNotification dated 23rd August, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible forappointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII.The one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/ she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

WHO WILL CONDUCT THE PSTET 2013 ?
The Department of School Education, Government of Punjab has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) -2012 to the SCERT, Punjab

APPLICABILITY OF TET ?
The PSTET shall apply to the Schools owned and managed by the Punjab State Government/Local Bodies and aided school. PSTET may also apply to the unaided private schools who may exercise the option of considering the PSTET

ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES I-V :
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Elementary Education (or its equivalent)  ---  OR ---  Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Elementary Education (or its equivalent), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002  ----   OR   ---   Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4–year Bachelor ofElementary Education (B.El.Ed.)   --  OR   --  Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma inEducation (Special Education)

ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES VI-VIII :
B.A. /B.Sc and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Elementary Education* (or its equivalent) ---  OR  ---- B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1–year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)  ----    OR  ----  B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 45% marks & passed or appearing in 1–year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)*, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.  ----   OR   ----   Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4–year Bachelor inElementary Education (B.El.Ed.)  --  OR   ---  Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4–year BA/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.)*  ---   OR   ---- B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1–year B.Ed. (Special Education)

PAPER-I 1 : CLASSES I TO V  - EXAM PATTERN :
  • Child Development and Pedagogy  30 MCQs  30 Marks
  • Language I  30 MCQs  30 Marks
  • Language II  30 MCQs  30 Marks
  • Mathematics  30 MCQs  30 Marks
  • Environmental Studies  30 MCQs  30 Marks

 PAPER-II 2 : CLASSES VI TO VIII  - EXAM PATTERN :
  • Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory)  30 MCQs  30Marks
  • Language-I (compulsory)  30 MCQs  30Marks
  • Language-II (compulsory)  30 MCQs  30Marks
  • (a) For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science  60 MCQs  60Marks
  • (b) For Social Studies/Social Science Teacher: Social Science  60 MCQs  60Marks
QUALIFYING MARKS IN PUNJABTET ?
A person who scores 60% or more in the PSTET exam will be considered as PSTET pass. School Management (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided)

SCHEDULE OF EXAM PUNJABTET-2013 EXAM DATES :
  • PAPER-I 1 : 20 - JANUARY - 2013  -  10:00 to 11:30 hr
  • PAPER-II 2 : 20 - JANUARY - 2013 -  13:30 to 15:00 hr

ADMIT CARD DOWNLOAD PSTET 2013
The candidate can download their ADMIT CARDS by visiting the PSTET 2013 OFFICIAL WEBSITE  again by entering his/her registration number and password (Candidates are advised not to disclose the password to any one for data security). Incase candidate unable to get the admit card, he/ she must contact ……………………… personally or on helpline numbers one day before the said examination upto 5.00 PM, failing which department will not be held responsible

APPLICATION FEE :
Candidates need to pay an application fee Rs 500 /- for GENERAL/OBC candidates and Rs 300 /- for SC/ST candidates and EX-servicemen self candidates are exempted from the fee . NOTE : The candidate who intend to appear for both Papers I & II, the fee shall be Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC & Rs. 600/- for SC/ST candidates
