WHY TNTET IS GOING TO BE CONDUCTED ?
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Governmentin accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
WHO WILL CONDUCT THE TNTET2013 ?
Teachers Recruitment Board is designated as the Nodal Agency for conducting of Teacher Eligibility Test and recruitment of Teachers as per G.O. (Ms) No. 181, School Education (C2) Department, Dated 15.11.2011.

ELIGIBILITY :
Candidates should possess the following prescribed qualifications to write the Teacher Eligibility Test :
  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2 Pattern) and Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education (regarding other State D.T.Ed Certificate, evaluation certificate is necessary) in a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET and seeking an appointment as Secondary Grade Teacher for classes I to V (except Visually Impaired Candidates) can write Paper I.
  • Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Litt.) with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography or a Degree with any one of the equivalent subjects (Regarding equivalent subject, Government orders issued prior to the date of this notification alone will be considered) from a Recognized University under 10+2+3 Pattern and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from a Recognized University and seeking an appointment as Teacher for classes VI to VIII can write Paper II.
  • Candidates appearing for the Final Year Examination of D.E.Ed / B.Ed during the current Academic Year (2012 – 2013) are also  permitted to appear for the Teacher Eligibility Test. Such Candidate’s should have successfully completed the course in the Current Academic Year (2012-2013) itself and should produce D.E.Ed / B.Ed Certificate during Certificate Verification otherwise they shall not be considered for current year Government recruitment process. However they may be issued with TET Certificate after producing D.E.Ed Diploma certificate / B.Ed Degree Certificate. 
TNTET EXAM CENTERS :
Examination will be held in all the 66 Educational District Headquarters. Candidates should appear for the examination at their own expenses. The board reserves the right to increase the number of examination centers and to re-allot the candidates for administrative reasons.

APPLICATION FORM AND COST OF APPLICATION FORM :
Applications can be received from 17.06.2013 to 01.07.2013 from all the Head Masters of Government Higher Secondary Schools, on payment of Rs. 50/- in cash towards the cost of Application Form and Prospectus.
EXAMINATION FEE :
The Examination fee is Rs.500/- for all the candidates except SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates. For SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates examination fees is Rs.250/-d. The fee should be paid by the candidate in any Branch of the State Bank of India or Indian Overseas Bank or Canara Bank only using the Prescribed Challan attached with the Prospectus.
WHERE TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION FORM?
The filled-in Application Form and the TRB Copy of the Fees Payment Challan must be put inside the envelope provided and submitted in person in the Office of the District Educational Officer. Candidates are advised to get the acknowledgement on the photo copy of the application form.

SALARY AND PAY : Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs 21,000/- p.m. in the scale of Rs 21000-1000-30000-EB-1000-32000-1100-36400 applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments are approximately Rs 47,855/-.
AGE LIMIT : Between 21 and 30 years (candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/06/1983 and not later than 01/06/1992). For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 31 and 33 years respectively. For candidates having experience as an officer in Commercial Bank/Financial Institution in Public Sector, upper age limit is relaxed to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For such candidates, upper age limit should not exceed 33 years including experience. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : i) A First Class Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade, in aggregate of all semesters / years ; OR ii) A Second Class Master's Degree with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade, in aggregate of all semesters / years; OR iii) A Doctorate Degree; with minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade, in aggregate of all semesters / years in Master's Degree; OR iv) Chartered/Cost Accountant/Company Secretary (ACS) with a Bachelor's Degree; OR v) A Post Graduate Diploma in Management / MBA qualification from institutions recognized by Government of India / University Grants Commission, with Graduation / Bachelor's Degree.
SELECTION PROCESS : Selection will be through Examinations and Interview. Examinations will be held in two phases [Phase-I ON-LINE Examination (Objective Type) and Phase-II Written Examination (Descriptive type)]
  • Phase-I ON-LINE Examination (Objective Type):This Paper approximately of 3 hours duration for 200 marks will be held on, the August 17/24/25, 2013.  The Paper consists tests of i) General Awareness ii) English Language iii) Quantitative Aptitude and iv) Reasoning.
  • Phase-II Written Examination(Descriptive Type): The Phase-II Written examination (WE) will be conducted in October/ November 2013 (tentative) only for those candidates who are shortlisted for the same. The Examination will consist of three Descriptive Type papers – (i) Paper I – English (ii) Paper II – Economic and Social Issues and (iii) Paper III – Finance and Management. Each of these papers is of 3 hours duration carrying 100 marks.
APPLICATION FEE : Candidates need to pay an application fee Rs . 400/- (Rupees four hundred only).No fee is payable by SC/ST/PWD candidates.Fee payment will be accepted from 2nd working day after registration and can be made within three working days at any branch of any one of the banks, viz. Bank of Baroda / Bank of India / Bank of Maharashtra/ Indian Overseas Bank / Central Bank of India / Punjab National Bank / United Bank of India. System generated fee payment challan should only be used for depositing fee. (For example: If one has registered on 15/06/2013, then he/she will be able to deposit the fee from 18th to 21stJune, 2013, considering 16thJune,2013 being a non- working day). SALARY AND PAY : Rs10300-34800 + Rs3200 (Grade Pay)
AGE LIMIT : Candidates age must be 18 to 45 years for all categories
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : i) Graduate from a recognized University alongwith six months Computer Applications Course from a recognized University or ISO-9001 certified Institution. OR  Graduate with ‘O’ Level Certificate from DOEACC, Govt. of India.  OR  BCA/B.Sc. (IT)/B.Sc. (Comp. Sc.)/B.Sc. (Economics) or B.A/B.Sc. or B.Tech. with Computer Science as an elective subject.ii)    Should have passed Punjabi Examination of Matriculation Standard.iii)   He/She will have to clear Punjabi Type Test  with a minimum speed of 30 w.p.m.within a period of one year after his/her appointment in the bank.
SELECTION PROCESS : Candidates would be selected through recruitment test only .

SALARY AND PAY : Rs. 10,000/- p.m. (approx) during one year probation period. After Satisfactory completion of the probation, CTC will be Rs.13,790/- (approx) on absorption in to the regular scale applicable to Clerk-cum-Cashier
AGE LIMIT : Candidates age must be 21 to 28 years as on 30 APRIL 2013
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Graduation in any discipline from a Recognized University (The candidate should have passed all subjects in the First Attempt only)  and adequate knowledge of operating computers in MS Office and Internet Usage.    The candidates who are appearing final year degree examinations are also eligible to apply. However, their candidature will be considered subject to clearing the graduation exam in first attempt
SELECTION PROCESS : The selection would be in two stages i.e On line Multiple Choice Objective Type test. All the candidates who applied and are eligible as per criteria prescribed for the post shall undergo objective type test to be conducted tentatively on 11th  August, 2013  through on line.  The qualified candidates in the on-line test will be called for interview up to three times the vacancies of the respective categories and final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the on line objective test and interview.  Outstation candidates called for interview are not eligible for any reimbursement of fares for having undertaken journey for interview purpose
